How has the Pandemic Changed Our IT plans? Our Survey

In December of 2020, AnswerPoint surveyed a list of approximately 2000 of our contacts to ascertain the effect of the Pandemic on IT projects and data transformation initiatives. The most relevant responses are below.
Some highlights:

  • No surprise that the increase in remote business transactions has affected the way most companies communicate.
  • As you will see, remote working, and the new work-at-home reality has clearly had an effect on IT and projects. Approximately 70% of respondents have said that the changes in work patterns during the Pandemic have resulted in an increase in the number of IT projects for next year.
  • AI/Machine Learning integration: 65% of respondents state that AI/Deep learning is an element of upcoming IT projects.
  • 33% of respondents state that the Pandemic has created new awareness of the need to upgrade internal systems. Most frequently cited systems in need of an upgrade are ERP (45%), Performance Management (39%), CRM (33%), and Accounting/financial (32%).
  • 74% of respondents outsource some amount of their IT development, mostly to gain specific skills.

If you’d like to learn more about these responses, and how AnswerPoint could help you bring 2021 systems integration and data-centric initiatives to fruition, please let us know.
